I love how this armor actually looks mildly practical, from a medival-combat kinda sense (except for the lack of helmet, but then again you can’t remove AJ’s trademark hat):
 
  • lots of padding under the armor  
  • the cuirass is shaped for protection, especially of her breasts, rather than skimpiness  
  • chainmail in the joints between plate  
  • more padding  
  • reasonably-sized short sword, good for fighting
     
    and that half-mask/jaw-protector looks kickass. I don’t know how well her head would turn in that neckpiece, but maybe it slides on itself.
     
    and though it’s a little silly, winona’s armor also looks kickass  
    and apple shield for style points +100
     
    EDIT: OH YEAH AND ALL THIS IN ADDITION TO THE LEGENDARY-TIER UNDERSTANDING OF LIGHT THAT THIS ARTIST SEEMS TO HAVE

Maybe she’s a first edition ranger. [geekery]In AD&D 1e, rangers could wear any armor, and didn’t have any special ability with a bow beyond what all fighters got. The 1e ranger was slavishly based on Aragorn, who wore armor and didn’t use a bow… and didn’t have animal companions, but you could always buy a dog and take it into the dungeon with you (I did that the first game I played - it was killed in the first room by a giant tick).[/geekery]
