Gavin is an unselfish kid who would go to unreasonable lengths to help a creature in need. He would be willing to cut off his tail if it would save someone’s life. He doesn’t care very much about himself, which makes his family and friends worry about him.
 
He is self-conscious about the fact that he doesn’t have wings. He wishes he had either feathery griffon wings or leathery dragon wings. Or any wings at all. His parents often tell him that he looks great the way he is, but he feels like he’s a freak and/or incomplete without them.
 
Gavin is more dragon than griffin, being able to breathe fire. He has excellent night vision and is lithe and flexible. Gavin doesn’t like surprises and gets scared easily whether it’s from jumpscares or scary stories.
