Hmm, I might have to join :p
Currently I’m folding for the brony@home team for the competition.. but would definitely love to actually make use of my 2 1080s instead of them just sitting there :p
@G.S.
O.o
This is pretty neat, actually! I might used this if I get into 3D stuff
Ugh, cannot unsee now! >:(
The machines that do the rendering are from volunteers, including myself. There’s even a team called PonyBlend that you could join, where members of your team will give priority to other teammates that submit projects to be rendered. And this is also all free, since this is all based around volunteers. So you could submit a single frame of this exact render, but instead have it set for like 8192 samples or more since it’ll take a shorter amount of time to render.
um
that little chip at the peak of the horn is causing an unfortunate resemblance
Fantastic model, though!

I mean there’s one upside to it and that’s the computer gets quite warm, it’s pretty nice for winter lol, I can also try with hdris but I don’t have any that would have looked similar to the stage lights, I need to get some from hdriheaven since they recently went free.
@Blissey1
It’s actually the reflection of the light that does that, it jus looks broken because it’s white and the background of the website is white as well, but yeah I need to work on the eye shader a bit more lol
Oh yeah, that’s understandable. Trying to get a clean render of a model with sub surface scattering with laptop hardware doesn’t sound too fun. You could try changing the lighting conditions to be less complex. I can tell you have stage lighting set up here, and that typically requires a lot more samples go get a less noisy image because there are a lot of light sources. If you try plopping your model in an outdoor lighting environment where the only light source is the sun, you could get a more clean looking render with less samples. That’s up to you though, since there are downsides to that where you’re more limited on how you would be able to light your scene with just one sun light source, for example.
Thanks! I mean 1000 samples was already way too much for my laptop, I had to use demonising otherwise it would have taken 3+ hours, there’s only one or two spots on the hair that I can see that are messy, I’ll try to get them fixed ASAP :p
