Pretty soft for a Sony.
Right now I’m running a Ryzen 1700X on a Asrock X370 Killer SLI system board and I used to be able to get my ram to run at DDR4 2800, but now I cant get it to clock over 2666…
I’ve spent months trying different memory timings and voltages, anything above 2666 will blue screen and crash Windows 10.
Now that the Ryzen refresh is about to happen hopefully I will do better with the silicon lottery.
I’m about to purchase a nice looking MSI X470 motherboard from Newegg, I’ll hold onto my existing CPU and see what happens.

@HwanyPlayz
my Minecraft alone takes up 12 GB of RAM. which still leaves me with ~10GB to use and 2GB for the OS.

I put this string to my JVM args
-Xmx12G
This took way far that I thought, and at that time I was playing YT on Chrome

Also, I tried to fill up my 16GB DDR3 in so many ways:
  1. Minecraft Java with 128+ render distance
  2. Loading the biggest Black MIDI file possible

    Sometimes it did hung up, but thanks to the Virtual RAM and RAM caching, it did not crash.

JOKE
The real fact is:
CPU performance depends on….
So many things.
  1. Single or Dual or Triple or Quad RAM bandwidth
    8GB 1600MHz < 4+4GB 1600MHz
  2. How OS handles the power of CPU
  3. Previous gen < Next gem
    …and much much more.

I’m exceedingly lazy about things like that. And so far its never crashed. 16GB RAM seems to be enough to handle my laziness. Though I have had power surges, but even when I reboot it opens all the tabs up no problem again. So hey, if it works don’t fix it right?

@DrWong
because i’m like 99% sure that the browser was not meant for that.

i mean what if it crashes and tries to reopen all tabs?
or why not just save a bookmark for interesting stuff like normal people do xD

I tend to open a new tab for every image that looks interesting to me and that I want to save… and then just leave it there for days on end until I feel like taking the time to go through them all and save them. Also, why not?

My opinion of how much ram chrome eats is rather irrelevant. I dont leave it much of a choice when I have 100+ tabs open at any given time.
