Well in the areas he’s in, he sort of draws darkness towards him. He’s like a magnet for it.

I don’t think the Pony of Shadows was ever supposed to be a threat. Seems to me this finale was more about his emotional journey in relation to the Pillars, and not so much about how much damage he could do.
Guess we gotta wait for all the artists to watch the episode on schedule. For both that and art in general.
Calling it now, he’s going to be the next Mane-iac… if you catch my drift.

You’re very close to answering your own question! ToonBoom Harmony is capable of doing so much more than Flash can, which is exactly why they used it to animate the movie and not Flash. Of course it’s going to look better than Flash!
I’m talking about what’s possible to do within the context of Flash only; it’s impressive that DHX has pushed Flash well beyond what it was designed for! I can appreciate all the neat tricks they use.
They also had more time and a greater budget. Again, I’ve seen Lord of The Rings, but that doesn’t mean I can’t appreciate a school production that’s done really well.
I guess we have different definitions of impress. I care much more about what the animators do then what they do it with, and they did much more and did it much better in the movie
I’m familiar with the technical limits of Flash, so I’m rather impressed with what they’ve done within this particular medium!
You do know that just because toon boom is more powerful doesn’t mean it’s easier, right?
The movie wasn’t done in Flash. I’m impressed by anypony who can run the Tour De Prance, not so much if they used a motorised bicycle for it.
How can you be impressed by this after the movie?
Never mind having to battle an alicorn princess once he returned. And her student, who is perhaps her equal in raw power.
