The tomatometer score was actually as high as 71% at one point. Obviously it’s since dropped significantly.
Audience? Sure. But not critics.
Obviously we weren’t expecting glowing reviews or a 99% on the tomato meter, but we certainly thought it would at least be considered “fresh”. For a time, it did appear as if the movie’s final score would rest somewhere between the 60-70% range.
I mean, did anyone expect anything else?

Why would you even mention that film? Ugh.
I don’t know, I’ve had some pretty good sandwiches.
The difference here is that, unlike ghostbusters, you will get a wholesome sandwich with MLP. Not the best sandwich ever, but follows the footsteps of those once served by Disney.

But did they add anything to that film’s DVD release to make anyone give a shit?
Yeah. You can kinda tell that they had to cut things out, probably to make it to a short enough run time that parents and their kids wouldn’t get bored.
Personally, I wouldn’t have minded an extra half hour to slow things down a little and explore the new characters a bit more.
Pretty, and really fun. Rushes a bit in a couple places though. Storm King needed a lot more screentime.
