Who said that its about OC’s only?
Since forever YCH was always about “what you want here” (aka “your character here”, not “your original character here”). Again, I fail to see your problem here.
People have right to ask for whatever they want on comission art unless artist say otherwise.
Key word is “artist”, y’know.
But to be fair, as an artist you should know that already.
Also I am pretty sure that more than 50% of YCH pictures on derpibooru are about cannon characters or cannon x oc.

Is not that there’s not enough oc’s or canon characters, is just that the concept of YCH is, well… “YOUR character here”, which kinda defeats the purposse of the YCH but I mean as long as they pay I guess thats not important. Didnt noticed it was a fanfic cover so i guess thats cool too, is just as an artist I do not enjoy drawing canon characters, so my complains might be biased.
