Because Ditzy is a more genuinely insulting nickname than Derpy is, and I’d rather the adorable wall-eyed pegasus we know and love keep the name she was actually called in the show rather than submit to people who want to treat her like she’s mentally handicap and force a name change because they don’t know what [makes silly mistakes] means.

Actually, she was never given one, that pony is just a random Derpy recolor, besides, if Derpy had not been discovered, Lauren would still have used Ditzy anyway.

Why do so many people assume that’s Ditzy Doo? I don’t recall anything in the episode specifying that she had somehow completed her mission successfully after going the wrong way; plus, there’s Lauren Faust’s comment that they didn’t actually show Ditzy Doo in “Winter Wrap-Up”.
Funny, Changedlings just had bugs for lunch in earlier scene.
