since someone did not like the idea that i commissioned the pinkie image i decided to just post the entire sheet.
this took Ratcha 30 minutes to make from start to finish. it cost me 20 dollars and i actually have 10 more minutes left for more art if i want. (he charges for time not images)
You can find Ratcha here

none of it is canon.
sorry for taking so long to reply, been working a lot.
Pinkie is my friends favorite pony character. i imagine it has to do with the emotional depth of the character? maybe the playful nature of her? or maybe it was just something that resonated with them at the time of watching her episodes. mlp can have a deep psychological impact on people going through problems ya know?
as for how it relates to the significantly more …tragic characters like the elsens, the batter, and lucas, all of them have faced tragedy, either because of their own actions the batter or uncontrollable situations around them, each one is so…powerful. so deeply troubling yet you cant help but FEEL for them.
some make you feel good, some make you feel bad, but if you let it, each one can touch you in a way that changes your life in a meaningful way.
the same goes for pinkie. the smile smile smile song affected me, it resonated with my desire to help others and the pain i feel when i cant. before then i actually disliked pinkie and thought she was dumb, but after that i held a lot of respect for what she represented.
i dont think she really represents laughter, its more about emotional honesty, shes not pure happiness, shes pure feeling, raw emotion, she feels so much more than others, and because of her desire to make everyone else happy she tries so hard to remain upbeat as well.
pinkies childhood was as far as i can tell terrible. no emotional expression, no joy, no love. she doesnt spread laughter, she spreads what causes laughter. the feeling of comfort, familiarity, trust.
im reminded of the avengers movie which was on tv yesterday. the hulk is raw emotion, though what bothers him is how everyone treats him like hes made of glass, he has no friends, he has no emotional connection. and then tony stark shows up and just…messes with him, pokes him, prods him, treats him like he treats everyone and isnt afraid.
i think thats kind of what pinkie tries to do. everyone has their walls, their shields, but also their want for certain things, a desire for people to treat them in a certain way, sure its not always the RIGHT way….example was pinkies treatment of cranky doodle, or guilda, but she tried super hard to make them feel welcome.
so i think pinkie does belong in this as a sort of deep and complex emotional ….effect. she falls apart when she feels abandoned, she spends every single waking moment trying to spread joy, when shes alone she works on knowing more for her active stuff. its her life. her purpose. laughter is a simplified idea but its close enough.
the TL;DR for ya is…
Pinkie is my friends favorite canon character in mlp so i asked Ratcha to draw her. as for the reason for him liking her well…that would be too long for the TL;DR but is probably cuz she resonated with him in some way.
sorry for the long reply, and thank you very much for the kind words on dealing with the other less nice person. thank you very much for that.
You got a full coloured image with 6 additional characters. I could throw up some numbers that’d probably end up higher than $20 for this. But good on you for focusing on what’s important. It’s really damn nice to see such a good attitude, and a mature response too to a person with a less good attitude.
But wondering, how does Pinkie connect to anything here? Ness and Batter I can see together, but the pony part, I can’t work out.
Okay wow bye
i was quite clear in what i said, no implication necessary.
perhaps i should have said “the way you worded it implied you think i shouldn’t like the image and that is why you implied i should not like it either.” but i didn’t because you very clearly do not like that i am ok paying 20 dollars for this image.
there is a difference between what you did, and what i did.
you implied 20 dollars was not the value of this image by questioning it not once, but twice. even after i stated i liked the image, was happy with its value, and showed you the original i asked them to mimic the style of.
what i did was clearly state that i disagreed with your implication.
also i addressed that you might not have meant to imply it, only that you did imply it. also that even if you didn’t mean to imply it you still did not like that i was ok with it costing 20 dollars either way.
kinda weird to type it all out actually.
though for a quick guide for knowing if you are potentially making people feel like trash you should.
A. not ask questions that put into question the value of an image. with no prompting and for no reason.
B. not respond to their explanation with an uncomfortable “I mean, good for you, I guess.” and then ask AGAIN about the value of the image.
C. that’s really it actually. i mean there are more but they are obvious.
hopefully this is just an isolated thing and you don’t randomly call into question people liking things without any prompting or try to make others feel bad about liking things that are not up to your standards of quality.
I think you should take your own advice. I never meant to imply that you shouldn’t be happy with it, and I don’t know why you would accuse anybody of thinking that way.
implication was obvious. you think i was overcharged or shouldn’t be happy with what i got. or both.
whichever it is i disagree with your implication. i was happy with it, my friend was happy with it. i had a blast watching it be made on stream and he added every little detail i asked him to.
Words matter, and whether you wanted to imply that or not that is what people will see when you question why they like something in the way you did.
Didn’t say it was wrong.
you are right, paying 20 dollars for something i wanted was wrong. i should delete this right away. sarcasm
thank you random citizen!
I mean, good for you, I guess.
But $20?
It is exactly what i asked for in every way. it was also a gift for January3rd.
