This moment cuts away the misunderstandings and really gets to the matter upfront, with Twilight right there to reassure him. I guess it’s like a miniaturized version of that ep from your perspective.

Background Pony: Owl’s Well That Ends Well had him leave of his own free will, while in this one Twilight was sending him away herself.
 
Yeah, but in both cases, it’s Spike that interprets a scenario as Twilight rejecting him. It honestly felt more real in Owl’s Well because we actually see Twilight scolding him, and that wasn’t even an actual rejection.
 
This scene was sad, but this character revelation is attenuated the second time around. To me, anyhow.

Am I the only one that thinks this season will focus more on the relationship between Spike and Twilight? We got to see both of their fears, and they were pretty much the same.
