Basically if they “cut a fine figure” in front of a burning fire at any time for at any reason kid’s an orphan.  
Though the chances of that go up dramatically if he also has that trademark “genki” spiky hair, since that means the kid-that-looks-exactly-like-him will need to avenge his looks-like-a-dirty-hobo-ronin father.  
 
Hell, doesn’t even have to be a kid currently just to have a flashback before being revealed as an orphan!  
If you kid’s hair looks like this, you may as well save everyone the trouble. You can go to your grave blissfully aware however, the kid also has Saiyan genes lurking somewhere in there, so your legacy is 100% confirmed preserved!
