I’m talking about their goals and true victories. Starlight has vast magical power and Sunburst is incredibly smart and knowledgeable, but both share the same frustration that it had failed to give them what they wanted.
 
This… was kind of the point of the episode. Your quote from Starlight was from before they found this out, and each thought the other had achieved their dreams.

However. I would imagine that Sunburst’s real magic prowess doesn’t seem to activate unless he senses Starlight being in danger or something. Perhaps he’s still not quite mastered his magic yet.
 
There needs to be an episode where Starlight aids him in achieving magic mastery.

She was unmatched in all the events leading up to said episode, still managed to get away, and her time travel spell worked exactly like she knew it would and was completely unbeatable by twilight. Only by being shown that without the 6’s bond, equestria dies, did she even CONSIDER that it wasn’t what she wanted. Until she laid bare her reasonings for wrath, a wrath that was unchecked ever since she was a little pony and thus letting it continue to grow and warp her view of the world as the days went by, did she finally step back and give twilight the chance to prove she could do something ELSE in life.
 
Sunburst was the one who perpetually failed due to having no actual magical prowess, though he studied well.

Well she was beaten in her first appearance, and almost accidentally destroyed the world in her second, not a great record.

On Pixiv, most of the uploads related to Western animation are made by Faust, McCraken, Hartman, and Tartakovsky, among others. Eastern animation and pop culture largely influences their work, not to mention a number of projects from Disney and Dreamworks, and unsurprisingly resulted in Eastern fans of Western animation, primarily seen on Pixiv. Ooh, which reminds of the supposed story of how Kingdom Hearts was first pre-proed, where Squaresoft and Disney shared an office, and Nomura and a representative of Disney were sharing an elevator, and together they thought up the idea. :3

Many of the staff behind FiM had their hands in anime.

Either the FiM character design works well with anime, or Uotapo is a miracle worker. I’m guessing the latter. Uotapo somehow knows how to make it stylized yet show accurate at the same time.
