Description
WebM support is here! Decided to re-render one of my longer animations I’ve done with ponies at 48 fps at 1024x1024 just for this.
Be sure to enable audio to listen to the dialogue! There are different ways to enable audio depending on what Desktop browser you’re using, but they are all typically under the right click menu when you right click the WebM video.
This animation overall has not been altered from the original, but this render is using my most recent model of Coloratura. The rigging for the eyes are slightly different now than they were back then too, so those may look a bit different, but other than that it’s the same thing just with a slightly different camera angle and lighting.
Also be sure to enlarge the video to play at it’s max resolution. For whatever reason the colors get all messed up when it’s not, at least for me.

Nice job with the modeling and animation.
I’m in agreement with you that it’s one of the best i’ve seen.
but we’re still on the part of the curve where making them better makes them more horrifying.
Everyone sees things differently. I have no problem with people thinking that this model still lies in the uncanny valley, because I know this model isn’t perfect by any means at all. It’s just incredibly tough to translate the 2D Gen4 designs into 3D, and there will always be people who will see oddities with these models that aren’t present in the 2D ones. I want to close that gap as much as I can. The only thing I wish he added to his comment was what he found that threw off the entire model into the valley for him.

You might want to wipe the Vasoline from your eyes, because this is one of the best damn renders on this site.
great animating skill, but terrible looks
Ah wait, Guess I missed it due to having Chrome in Dutch. Makes it different.
Also, the animation is wonderful in every aspect! My congratulations! Keep it up! ^^
You aren’t seeing this option?
Not with my Chrome I only get the standard website settings.
Check on right clicking the image. My Firefox doesn’t have audio on default for Webm (I like it that way), I have to manually “Unmute” it.
You have to manually enable audio by right clicking the video and enable “Show Controls” on Chrome. Then you’ll see a volume control slider.
And yet three of the five big browsers only support gifs and Flash for most animations (and Youtube’s new video format). I can see the animation on Chrome, but I’m not getting the audio. Maybe because I’m stuck on a crappy Win7 machine because I have too many ponies in here to put my brand new replacement laptop anywhere…
Beautiful animation. The character’s movement is so expressive and the lipsynching is perfect.
All i see is a white blank picture.

Gifs have really shown their age. This gif is 18.92 MB playing at 512x512 at 25fps with heavy dithering, while this WebM is 2.6 MB (14% the size of the gif) at 1024x1024 at 48fps WITH audio.
WebMs are a godsend for animators like me.
