Mean.
don’t be silly. the netherlands is a prison colony. they don’t have any more free will than anyone else.

your current filter.OH. OKAY. Well that makes it okay then. We don’t need free will for the rest of humanity, then. We have the Netherlands…
that’s why they had the netherlands set aside for people who have presence of mind.
Because at least we have the presence of mind to notice something’s wrong, and you have no hope of fixing things if you don’t even know something is wrong.
I’d say it’s a case of Pot calling the Kettle black.
Neithers’ perfect, but left alone they work well enough.
And both have moments of dear god why built in.
it’s funny people call it dystopian, but stuff only started going horribly wrong when you added in some outsiders who were shielded from the system. so was it the new system that was immoral, or was it the old system, producing people who suffer and go mad just to defend some sort of rote morality?
what’s crueller, a society who forces people to fit their role, or one who forces people to suffer in ill-fitting roles?
No, ‘Brave New World’ is a dystopian novel where people are conditioned before birth and during infancy to fit certain roles in society. Manipulating the fetus with chemicals to make them happier later during life while removing their choice of what to do with their life is very much a “Brave New World” kind of thing.
Not “brave”. That’s an “ugly” world we live in.
Or you’re still trolling me. In that case, goddammit.
not even trolling. I’d be genuinely conflicted if apogee still loved her mom because of fetal alcohol syndrome.
what a brave new world we live in.
Alright, out of everything you’ve said, that particular roll at trolling is, at best, inadequate.
Considering the conversation we’ve already had, I expect better from you. You’ve disappointed your mother and I greatly.
>booze makes your kids love you longer
I… honestly never thought of it that way.
Pistols at dawn, good sir?
@redweasel
Realistically, yes, most teenagers would have become jaded by that point. But it’s whatever, I was only regurgitating the information provided by the blog.
Plus, given that her mother was a party girl and likely drank a lot, it’s possible that Apogee has a sprinkling of mental issues herself.
are you suggesting I’m pretending ignorance to make for humorous wordplay? why I never!
anyway the problem with that is when you desire validation for 16 years, you start to get worn out, losing hope. kids with neglectful mothers do not develop into clingy teenagers. they develop into me. 12 years is around when I’d say they start breaking.
You darn well know what I meant.
Apogee desires validation / maternal affection from the mare who gave birth to her.
If I get any more specific than that, it’ll sound like something out of a textbook.
I think the last adjective you could apply to her mom is responsible.
Desperation to be validated by one of the two ponies responsible for her existence?
so why would she be happy to see her mom? :p
Well, the same blog post states that she really wants to be loved, so~
apogee is entirely too happy to see her mom to be 16…
Actually, I think a text post on the Tumblr stated that Apogee was 16. I might be wrong, but I’m pretty sure that that’s what the blog said.
Either way, still sad.
especially considering that apogee is what, like, twelve or something? that’d mean it’s been thirteen years!
