I admit that
There’s 3D stuff in the movie but Tempest is definitely all 2D. It’s just smoothly animated and without the restrictions they had with the old puppets. Seeing it break out of those restrictions so freely is probably a big part in why it feels so weird.

Yeah, she’s definitely got that appeal when she says that. I was sceptical by her edge-lordiness at first, but I reckon she’ll make a good number of followers once the movie’s in full swing.

Much much higher frame rate, looks like they may have switched to Toon Boom as well. My bet is they might have used rotoscope animation over 3d models. But idk that seems excessive for mlp movie.
They moved from Flash to Toonboom for the movie. Sure it’s not that?
The animation in the trailer looked a little off to me as well. Might be my computer for all I know…
