I admit, on a second watching, this special really wasn’t THAT bad. It just sucks that Sunset, who was Starlight’s costar for most of the special, suddenly got ejected from the spotlight in the last act. It frankly baffles me, considering how all of Starlight’s episodes this season have been ensemble pieces (Starlight/Trixie, Starlight/Maud, Starlight/Royal Sisters) where she didn’t suddenly steal the spotlight.
