I’m starting to think this sort of phenomenon is present in some users the past two, three years because the ships in question are between a male and female; Fluttercord, Dislestia, Spember, Thuna; which makes them strongly believe any aforementioned on-screen platonic friendship between the aforementioned male and female characters is an obvious sign of a budding romance.
 
Ooh! I believe this could also tie in to a smaller theory I’ve developed: Fans from 2010-2013, more familiar with Faust and the earlier, simpler stories, create comprehensive theories backed by extra detailed research to best estimate future elements. Fans from 2014-2017, more familiar with the later, relatively complex stories, create theories out of thin air with almost no legitimate evidence outside of the statement “because I said so”.

I can see how people can read it as ship teasing, though it’s when people act like it’s canon that annoys me most. Also, Lyra/Sweetie Drops wasn’t teased until Slice of Life, and even than it’s scattered and few.

Fluttercord is obviously teased intentionally, though. The fact that any review and reaction video who haven’t been into this ship suddenly notice it, is far from the idea that Hasbro just acciddentally just made them write the lines about “me and i don’t make sense together” and other things that are mostly written in Fluttercord fanfiction. Once the episode hit the Discovery Family, i guess they will be more fans claiming that it’s canon. At this point it reached the LyraBon status. Fact that it isn’t yet canon will mean nothing to its shippers.

Fan ships have no effect on any potential romantic relationships in official material. You might be thinking of on-screen friendships in an amorous sense, but the examples you provided are platonic.

dislestia is not even canon, it’s no where near canon, unlike fluttercord, there are episodes based around fluttercord AND HOW THE HECK DID DISLESSTIA EVEN START?!?!?!!?!! I’m gonna put it in my list of ships that don’t make sense, next to RariDash
