My effect requires three FIRE monsters, not five; so it’s capped at a somewhat reasonable 6000 ATK/DEF (12 * 500 = 6000).

From what I’ve gleaned, Link monsters seem like they’re going to be a mess.

This is an interesting effect, but with the modern rules (Not looking at the newest “Link” summoning rules), there are infinite ways to special summon monsters. Especially with Jurracs paired with Pendulums. So it’s very easy to put 5 level 4 monsters on the field in one turn with the right cards in your hand and in the graveyard. So even if she was level 10, she’d be totally overpowered with a max of 10,000 ATK/DEF.
 
With this effect, it could be more reasonable to have it say 200 per star level. That way, her max would be, once again, 4000, which is a highly balanced number in modern.

How about this:  
Card Effect: Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. This card can only be Special Summoned (from your hand) by tributing three Level 4 or lower FIRE monsters you control on the field. This monster’s ATK and DEF is equal to the total Level of the tributed monsters times 500.

You’re right, also, 800 is kind of low if she has 10 stars. Especially since there can only be 4 monsters on the field inorder to summon her. That means she’ll have 3200 ATK/DEF. Now, 3200 no laughing matter, but she could go higher if you add in that the Pyro monster also need to be tributed to summon her. If that’s added, then you wouldn’t need the last part at all and it would become a rather well-balanced card.

Yaaay badly designed cards.

Aren’t effects used when cards need to have two types like that in such a manner? Like “This card is also treated as a pyro type monster” or something?
