The ps3/x360 version has better sound and video quality. It’s way better than the ps2/wii version. Though the game is pretty rare for some reason

Yes. For the third game there is a huge difference in quality. Get the PS3/Xbox if you can. Though the PS3 version is a little rare.

So getting all 3 on PS2 is a viable option… is there a difference between the ps2 and the ps3/360 versions?

A new beginning was for the PS2, Gamecube, Xbox, DS and GBA.  
The Eternal Night was for PS2, Wii, DS and GBA.  
Dawn of the Dragon was for PS3, PS2, Xbox 360, Wii and DS.
 
I recommend you stick to the console games.

Yeah. I had to do a little research that the 3 legend of spyro games are their own pocket story and don’t lean into anything.

I know that Spyro and Cinder are fairly close by the third game, just that it was retconned out after that as ember went after someone else shortly before the abomination known as skylanders came to be.

Okay, where did you heard that the third game would make spyro a virgin? Cuz i can tell you that this is a big lie. Spyro x Cynder is canon. They both have a lot of chemestry so it’s not a one-sided love. Also, the third one is the best

Been considering it, but oddly enough, part of my fondness for the games has been due to the idea of Spyro actually “getting the girl” as it were. Elora seemed to be the love interest. I never got to play the second game. I 100%ed the third game and you could taste my rage at how that arrogant, cocky do-nothing Hunter bagged the rabbit by…. doing NOTHING USEFUL ALL GAME. And Spyro’s ending is to… sit by himself. It’s why I picked up the next game to play ASAP but it was so slow and the load times hurt I didn’t get past the first area before quitting.
 
I heard spyro was getting along with cynder in the Legend series, except the third one apparent retcons that she is going after someone else, leaving spyro alone once more, so I’ve not had the incentive to play another game where I do all the work and get ditched for someone else.

Er, well, the first and the third. The second game I had was destroyed and the ps2 game that came after had such horrendous load times I gave up. Never played the Legend games where Cynder showed up.
