Pinkie Pie clearly loves her whole family, but she damn near worships the ground Maude walks on. I love how this take on Maud fits so well with that idea. That maybe it’s Pinkie being grateful in retrospect to Maud for all her help early in life.

I mean, I kinda get what Moondancer is going for, but the biggest stumbling block here is that Maud DOES represent an ideal and Trixie doesn’t. Maud is the pinnacle of Earth Pony power, while Trixie is just another Unicorn.
