I really do hope they give soarin the character development that idw gave. There’s just so many things that idw did right (except making sombra into a good guy) and they could use so much of it in the show

Soarin also the most empathetic of the Wonderbolts despite his position. Derpy despite her degenerative eye disease never let that stop her from enjoying life to fullest. Even if she had to move to ponyville, get a not fully successful eye surgery in her teens in “Where the Apple Lies” in life and had to do various odd jobs to support herself as she gets older.
 
Til she eventually becomes a great mailman. Though despite her condition she is recognized by her skill as she both was chosen to replace Rainbow Dash during “Rainbow Falls” for the Equestrian Games tryouts, and fought on the front lines along with the Wonderbolts and reserves against Tirek in “Twilight’s Kingdom”. Not to mention the possibility she is a single mother to a colt,(could be little brother, but still), as well. This mare is unflappable almost practically.

I wish it did. Friends Forever 36 did wonders for Soarin’ in character development (and it was on of the best Wonderbolts focused stories).

Mmmmm about Soarin, I think its not very accurate… I think instead of that we can say (considering Issue 36 of Friends Forever)
 
-He is not as talented as the other bolts (at least, in his opinion)
 
-He had to work harder to keep his spot
 
-He didn’t have support from the others
 
-He don’t give up and push himself until he reach his goals
