Lauren planned on them being dead from the beginning, but since she stepped off after the initial few seasons, anything can happen. I personally think it’s far too late in the game to just write them in with some asinine reason why they were never around for seven seasons. At least with Dash it makes sense because she purposefully avoided contact with her parents, but the apple family is close-knit as all hell. There’s no reasoning that could work.

Edit: Okay, apparently AJ’s parents are actually confirmed for another episode. (Let’s just hope it’s in like a flashback or something, cause if they’re alive, the fandom is gonna go batshit.)
