Why are you blaming fans? I really doubt Hasbro cares much what a bunch of screeching manchildren have to say.  
IMO it makes more sense they wanted the spin-off to be its own thing, nothing to do with backlash seeing as the first EqG did pretty decently according to them.  
And as someone mentioned earlier, the Equestria parts are even less relevant than the first two movies.

Starlight is my favorite character on the show right now by far. But that’s a moot point relating to the image because I absolutely despise anything even remotely relating to the entire EqG franchise. Opinions and preferences are weird things p:

Are you sure? The movies have progressively featured less and less of Equestria unless it’s Sunset or its indirect tainting of magic. Whether we like it or not, the movies seem to be on the same regard as the comics in this, as in, “The show is canon for the comic/movies, but the comic/movies aren’t canon to the show” sans maybe some cameos like those of Flash Sentry.

Well, I still believe Sunset’s arc won’t ever be complete without a final reconsiliation with Celestia. Sad thing that we’re apparently never getting that…

Maybe Starlight going to the human world and Sunset going to Equestria (At the show) would be a solomonic decision. But Sunset looking at Celestia is very discarded. Sunset only wants live at the human world and talks with princess Twilight, her best friend/adviser.

Well, I would have liked for the focus to remain on Sunset as well, but I was willing to allow Sci-Twi in the spotlight so long as they kept her different, which they didn’t…
 
Judging by LoE, I fear that the writers just don’t know what to do with Sunset anymore other than have her as the more experienced mentor for Sci-Twi. I can think of some things (like meet the other Sunset Shimmer, or a long-awaited reunion with Princess Celestia), but those are things that the writers have apparently either discarded (the commentary for Friendship Games suggests as much for the first) or are somewhat unable to do (Hasbro seems determined to keep EqG and FiM as separate as possible, so anything like Sunset returning to Equestria for good seems off the table.)

A change is good to the show, but change the original main character towards a reformed villain and after loved waifu, next another change unto a uber-unsafe copy version of the first main character and adds the failed romantic tried (two times!!). I can’t hold that.

According to TVTropes, Timber Spruce is a Minor Major Character. I don’t really care for him that much or Gloriosa Daisy either. Also, Filthy Rich should have won.

Basically, what @Sunset’s Minion said. I don’t mind change, I mind bad change and Starlight’s definitely one for the most part because of all the reasons I’ve listed throughout. Heck, I even liked the idea of some focus on Sci-Twi, the problem there was instead the opposite of change. One of the reasons I disliked much of “Legend of Everfree” is because that movie went out of its way to code Sci-Twi exactly like Princess Twilight, when the very reason I absolutely adored Sci-Twi in Friendship Games was because she felt simultaneously like a call-back to Unicorn Twilight, being more inexperienced and all that, and at the same time a fresh version of her, being all sciency-like instead of magical. Then LoE comes around and they gave all they gave Twilight in EqG1, an annoyingly bland love interest, an “the rest of the team can’t do anything without her” relevance, and a strong focus on magic…
