I believe someone of them are I believe that the sombra orgin is a little bit canon like the umbrum radianthope and amore:3 k
Shadow Lock ended up having nothing to do with Sombra, so there was no conflict between the show and comic.
@Darth Sonic
I imagine he had a family before he started his quest?
I’m being somewhat smarmy, but a gag from Fake It had Fluttershy making a terrible teapot cozy.
This runs contrary to Flutters having “freaky sewing skills” in Suited for Success or knitting a tiny sweater in It Ain’t Easy Being Breezy.
I guess this was before condoms were a thing.
That second thing though, I feel like I’m missing some context. Are you saying Fake It broke canon somehow?
Then this comic is as much canon as the one where Starswirl defeat Sirens by rapping and doing country music without any mention of the pillars.
Even if he hadn’t got his mack on with a woman before the sirens, the annual makes it clear that there’s weeks if not months in between the siren’s defeat and when he eventually goes full goth.
There’s plenty of time to squeeze five minutes in with a random mare, especially if she’s from his own village and is particularly grateful for his assistance against the sirens.
@Esteban
So more canon than Fake It Till You Make It, got it.
Then let’s me say this in another way. This comic is what “Fluttershy knitting comic” is to Fake it till you make it and “Siege of the crystal Empire” is to S9 where evil Sombra is ressurected.
Are we really doing this? Because the shows canon to the comic, and we’re discussing the comics, so the question still stands.
the comics are not canon
Brother Cosmos?
but then I was looking back and realized we already see the villain’s picture during Shadowlock’s story.
Maybe the new villain is the first Umbrum?
Dude lived to adulthood. Plenty of time to knock up Hope and/or any number of other mares/curious stallions.
‘course the major holes in OP’s theory is that A) the illustration in Shadowlock’s book doesn’t look like Sombra and B) Hope is the most likely dam, but there’s a very little window between when she could’ve had a child and when she left for the Umbrum dimension.
Maybe, Shadow Lock is Sombra’s son…FROM THE FUTURE!!!
That’s what I’m wondering. Like, Sombra isn’t even a pony! He’s an umbra, or something like that. If they can crossbreed, then technically it didn’t have to be Sombra who got some action. Instead, any umbra pony could have done it at any time previous to Sombra doing his stuff. That being said though, Shadow Lock being Sombra’s descendant makes thematic sense since they share the same conflict. So yeah, I bet they were implying that Sombra and Radiant porked before he went off the deep end. After all, they do both look to be of proper age by the time he flips out.
Oh crap they’re different. There goes my “From Elvis to edgelord” joke…
He had a magical flesh suit made for him, he could probably manage it.
