I think the problem with that comic was that it made the hands 5 too distrustful and they fell into the hypocrisy of “if apple bloom ridicules applejack, she is quickly forgiven because she is family, if sunset is suspected of her, immediately everyone abandons it without even thinking that it was too obvious”
Like they made them stupid for no reason or like they didn’t see things that were too obvious in front of them, it’s good that forgotten friendship came out later, which you feel is based a lot on the comic but changing things so that the things that happen make real sense. pass

Some used to actually when it first came out. There was tons of EqG AB hate for a li’l while. (Which is odd, considering Sweetie & Scoots were responsible too.)

I’m pretty sure people aren’t holding a grudge over EG Apple Bloom (at least not the movie version)

I actually agree with that, it was OOC. My point was it’s odd that people hold a grudge with AppleBloom over that, (though the other CMC were responsible too) yet pretend Sunset & others never used to do bad things either, and that they’re perfect. That’s what I don’t get. Now I don’t hate Sunset either, but if people are going to hold a grudge over AppleBloom over that, then they should other characters for doing equal or worse things.
 
Regardless it wasn’t a very good issue, and it was very mean-spirited. (I don’t hate IDW like many on this site do, and I actually enjoyed some comic issues, but that’s one issue, I’d prefer to consider “not canon.” Especially, considering I doubt the comics will ever regard it again.) Plus Sunset already suffered a bit for her wrongdoings, so it just seemed like a bad attempt to make the viwers feel sorry for her, and such.

The difference is that it was in-character for Sunset and Starlight. Apple Bloom in the pony world would never be so cruel, so the fact that they completely abandoned her real personality and ruined everyone’s first impression of the EqG version of her is inexcusable.
 
Her plan doesn’t even make sense. Sunset isn’t Applejack’s only friend. She’s still going to spend time with the other Mane 6. It would’ve at least made sense to post information that only those at the slumber party would’ve known to make them all suspect of each other and turn them against each other. Instead she targeted Sunset like an evil sadistic cunt.

The thing is, Sunset had been actively trying to make amends with the school and was doing pretty well. And then Apple Bloom comes and rips that away because the little shit was jealous.

Eh, it’s kinda a shame the only thing the EqG CMC ever got to do (in the comics, shorts, or movies) that would influence the plot was that. It really made them look bad. Still, I think some go overboard demonizing them over it. (It’s especially ironic considering said people like characters like Sunset & Glimmer whom did nasty things too, yet much easily forgive them.)
 
Besides, she, and the other CMC did apologize, and got punished for it. (According to Sweetie they got detention for pretty much the rest of the school year, considering it was winter. Which is a pretty major punishment.)  
Plus, it’s not like Sunset Shimmer never did anything bad herself. She’s also guilty of turning others against each other, spreading rumors/lies about others, trying to frame & defame Twilight, only dating/using Flash for popularity, world conquest, ect. Arguably, some of the things she did were way worse then mere “cyber-bullying,” or just as bad.

The comic and the movies can’t simultaneously be correct in this case. EQG Apple Bloom likes Shimmer just fine, and the most rude thing she did to her was (pretty politely) expressing discomfort along with the rest of the school at the start of the second movie.
 
If an awful, dumb comic that got got personalities wrong and conflicted with the show made a mane 6 the villain, would everyone hold a grudge against them too? Think about it.
