Being a alicorn has nothing to do with power and ability is more of great destiny and responsibility at the level of royalty, that’s why Twilight became (without expecting it) in alicorn and Sunset can become a temporary one for now, while Starlight (and Trixie even if I said I want to see her as one) could not become a real alicorn since she doesn’t have a royal destiny.
Starlight is much closer to Twilight and sunset in terms of magical abilities then trixie.
With Starlight it shouldn’t even occur, that would only be damaging even more its already in itself damaged image
