Oooh. That makes a CRAZY amount of sense. They have similar themes (if we’re sure she was designed after G1 North Star) and during the infamous Pinkie Non-Con Butthug incident that made us notice her in the first place (>>45168) who was she with before she was, ahem, interrupted? Yes, Star Gazer. They’re together again in Sweet and Elite. (>>45828) So definitely a connection there.

if it’s true that Twilight can become an Alicorn princess (which remains to be seen) then who is to say that princess Cadence didn’t start out life as a normal unicorn? I mean so far it doesn’t seem she is also 1000 years old or something, then that could mean her mom is North Star, a rather normal Canterlot unicorn.
