Salnalus actually isn’t the main person behind Genie Twilight. That would be me, but Salnalus is a good friend of mine who made the fanfiction version of the origin story. And as seen here made some art too.
 
As for Spike’s eye, that was the result of the ending of a long story within the ask blog (Mostly text only, though the first act has images from Navitas). http://i-dream-of-twilight-sparkle.tumblr.com/tagged/Return-to-Saddle-Arabia/chrono

Salnalus has been keeping this universe going for a great long while… it’s probably one of the longest lasting in the fandom. It’s quite good, what with the mythology built around how Twilight became a genie, and how knowing that Spike would be there for her through the millennia made the difference in deciding to stay one. I appreciate the work that has gone into this.
 
I must have missed something though! What happened with Spike’s eye!?
