The correct answer is : harass Derpibooru’s staff so they finally allow .webm files, which would both improve quality and reduce file size massively.  
Personally I value quality more than bandwith, but a lot of users may disagree. That’s why some uploaders use a semi-crappy .gif and put a link toward a proper high-quality .webm in the description.

When making gifs I try to balance image quality with a reasonable file size. What you see here is the highest quality I can produce without getting ridiculous with huge files, though I admit 10.68 MB is quite large for a gif. So I’m asking the opinion of anyone who reads this: should I upload the other 60 FPS gifs I made from the video that are even larger or should I scale back the FPS to reduce the file size?
