No, it isn’t, lol. You can learn anything the same but a mechanic or computer engineering is way more complex and hard to do. If you mess up on art you can fix it, if you mess up on a car, you can cost someone their life. Requires more physical action and knowledge. I’m not a downgrading artist because my art does suck and I know how hard it truly is. But can’t compare to what you just did, lol. No hate at all friend.

I agree that an artist should be allowed to make money with their skill, as it is just that: A skill. It’s just like learning to be a mechanic or fix computers.
 
However, I don’t believe in the privatization of art. There are other incentives one could have to entice people to become Patrons.
 
I’ve considered starting my own Patreon eventually so that I could hopefully quit my job and have more free time to put stuff out, and I’ve been coming up a rewards plan of my own that I feel would work really well for everyone. Regardless, I guess in the end it really is up to the artist if they want to paywall their work or not. I just don’t personally agree with that method.
