Because it’s actually a play on “Sisterhood Social”. Pony puns don’t have to make sense, they just have to be funny.
Then Sisterhooves Social becomes Sisterhands Social. How does that make sense?
Not really when you remember the phrase, “give one’s hand in marriage”.
Which is just as weird.
I think it’s supposed to be the pony equivalent of “Hearts and Hands Day”, actually.
