Yeah, no. What Rainbow Dash does in her Scootaloo talks is more sympathy, which is not the same thing.
Like when Dash ignored Flutter’s feelings and prank her? She can show empathy, she just isn’t to good at it. Flutters, while shy, has shown to be more empathy, and is willing to help others after she overcome her shyness.
How would him being a softies keep him out of the wonderbolts?
And there are also times she’s vastly incapable of empathy.
… You do realise RD is capable of empathy, as shown in Sleepless in Ponyville, and Fluttershy doesn’t even know Soarin and has social anxiety issues, right? Also, if Soarin is such a ‘softie’, how did he even become a wonderbolt in the first place? Seems like pretty flawed logic…
Soarin is having issues and needs emotional support, and Spitfire just realized she assigned a team member with all the empathy of a cinderblock to help him.
