The general consensus is that tatzls normally can’t digest living things. Even the one guy who I see doing tatzl vore w/digestion stuff uses potions to make it work.

Nope. Tatzlponies all have those distinctive eye-stripes, tentacle-tongues and long swishy tails. Depending on the artist, they may or may not have a trifurcated jaw, pegasus-tatzls may have flight stabilizers on their tails, and they either have a full crest of floof up their tail or spikes and floof-tip.
you mean the same red markings most tatzls have? looks like that might be the case. hadn’t noticed it before.
