I think that episode came out pretty well. It was a risky one, though. If it hadn’t been handled so well, it would have been easy to assume that Sweetie Belle was written out of character, rather than accept that we’re just getting acquainted with her darker side. But her plight was done in a very relatable way, and the story was fun, so it all worked okay in the end.
He also did For Whom the Sweetie Belle Toils, which in my opinion has the best scene in the entire show’s history.
How controversial?
There was a huge amount of screaming and whining over several of them from Seasons 1-3, and a thriving hate club for a while that’s mostly faded away at this point.
It was just a joke, dude.
And then the other half will complain about how the fanbase doesn’t love every single change.
