Rainbow Dash lets ’em go long and fast, but not noisy. The extra jet boost is what lets her do rainbooms. She calls it “getting Pegasseous.”

I actually have a headcanon that Rainbow’s farts are actually the silent air hissers, but are definitely audible. The fact that she tries to cut an earth-shattering rumbler to one-up AJ but instead her butt just makes a loud, loose gassy sound and she gets frustrated when AJ teases her about this fact and always wins by default.
 
AJ’s the go-to mare for deep wet rumbling farts.

Maybe she is in the middle of a bet or something with Rarity after Rarity caught her totally pigging out earlier making a mess.
 
Rarity: “Darling, even IF you wanted to I doubt you could be lady like all the way until after the hearths warming eve pageant at the school”  
Rainbow: “Oh it’s on! I can totally be lady like if I actually wanted to”
 
Unfortunately for Rainbow, what it was she was caught pigging out on? A hot heaping bowl of winter chilly after a day of snow fun with Scootaloo, and currently it’s the quietest part of the play… Which is also Scootaloo’s part, which she is very proud of.
