I got mixed feelings about this. It’s great to see such a minor character get some time in the spotlight, but making Yamcha a gary stu who could survive 5 Saibamen explosions at once isn’t really what I had in mind.
 
Being something of a fallguy with awful luck is what kinda made Yamcha and to a lesser extent Krillin, so endearing and relate-able as characters. They weren’t the greatest fighters around, but they had personality and plenty of talent in their own right.
 
I do realize this is played up for fun and as a non canon “what if a fan had control over these events” sort of thing, and might go somewhere unexpected in the end, so We’ll see.
 
Side note…What happened to Yamcha’s soul/consciousness, while this kid has his body?

The last part might be a bit much, but I definitely agree that the pose shall be funny in a legendary way.
 
Meanwhile, I have slight reservations about the next episode, which rarely happens to me.

I think this episode was hands down the best of the 3 filler episodes.
 
It really captured Yamcha’s character to a tee. He’s always had his talents and his moments once in a blue, but he’s always been subject to a fair amount of bad luck and embarrassment in between..like from the very first moment he froze up looking at Bulma.
 
That death pose will never not be funny. Karma for talkin’ shit behind Tenshinhan’s back, maybe.

Eh, I’d actually pit Discord against Vegita since both are bad -yay-ses who started off as villains, became domesticated, had a heel turn that almost immediately backfired on them, and then went back to being good like nothing happened.

It’s funny how relevant Yamcha was in that episode alone.
