Always hard to tell if somebody is being sarcastic. This is far from animal cruelty. Just a harmless prank at the cost of the cat/pony. Startling somebody/something won’t kill him/her/it under normal circumstances.

Yeah, not sure if it has been debunked already or was just common sense. I remember a video where a puppy was “sneaking” on a cat and the cat “flew” away the moment it noticed the curious doggo. It’s just a startling reaction.

I was legit torn between whether that should be a quesadilla or a cucumber, but went with cucumber just for the silliness and the reference.

I think it’s just that it got there without them realizing it was there, they spot it and it spooks them before they can even think about it. I bet it could be anything, but the first was a cucumber and then everyone else did it.
