I haven’t posted in a long time, and I will explain why. Before I do, I want to let it be known that I have some questions and would like your thoughts and opinions on the matter and what you would like to see be done. I’ll try to be as brief as possible.
My Absence:
My disappearance first really began when my tablet malfunctioned. My Cintiq Companion is my only computer, so without it, I can’t draw or post images. It took a long time to get the issue resolved. The Cintiq would not turn on at all, and getting help from Wacom was nightmarish.
But even after the problem was resolved, I was too focused on my classes. I’m currently in Japan learning to speak the langauge. It has kept me completely distracted from drawing.
My Choices Now:
During my time in Japan, I was provided with many opportunites for reflection. And one conclusion I came upon is that I don’t want to do NSFW content anymore.
That kind of work is not the kind of work I want go forward with. There are a multitude of reasons why. These range from feeling very uncomfortable with sexualizing characters that I very much find endearing, to how impractical it is whenever I want to share my work with the people around me.
I have no intention to pretend I haven’t done these things and I won’t go around trying to delete and cover up my previous work. But I do want to now move forward with art that I can be proud of. Which leads to my next questions:
The “Ask Humans from Equestria Anything” Blog:
I’m unsure what to do with this blog and I need your input. I very much enjoyed making the story and comic, but there were a couple of problems with it. Primarily, there’s not much of an audience for it.
My favorite website is the /co/ section of 4chan. But because it’s MLP content, I’m not allowed to post it there. When I took a look into /mlp/, I discovered that humanized content is heavily frowned upon. So the two communities that I was trying to appeal to, the comics and MLP fandom, both limited where I could share my work.
So, if I can’t post in comics… and the MLP fandom despises my work… what do I do with it? I’m essentially drawing the comic for myself. And while it is indeed fun to create, I do want to create work that could appeal to many people.
My question: What should I do with this blog? Is there a way to continue and appeal to a broader audience? Or should I move on to a new project?
My Swain Blog:
I won’t be terminating this blog, but I don’t plan to post any more content to it. I’ll create a new blog, with work that I’d be happy to share with others. I haven’t decided what to name it yet.
Commissions:
Commissions are still available, but now I limit all requests to SFW content. That means only content that can be comfortably shared in a work environment. Specifically I would like to avoid anything that is aimed towards sexualizing characters.

That being, what does this mean for the Project Mistletoe comic? Is it still going to be a thing?
Please, for the love of god say yes, its been a while but I’m heavily invested on it :D

I suggest places outside of 4chan, DA loves humanized ponies, look all the replies mauroz’s comics get there.
>Won’t be doing any NSFW content anymore.
….
Well…crickey. Still good to see them back.
as many sites as you can (there are more than just here and /mlp/). If your art is quality enough (which it is) it won’t matter that you don’t do NSFW stuff anymore (though maybe link to some of your old NSFW art to draw some eyeballs). If you’re up to it, try and practice drawing some pony art and see if that might be something you may want to branch out into. Your humanized artwork is great but at the end of the day, some people just come here to see pastel colored equines. If you want to stick with your genre, that’s cool too. The net’s a pretty big place so I understand difficulty trying to get noticed. Still, you’ve got talent and you appear to be passionate about your work. Best of luck to you.
Just continue your comic on tumblr and DA and don’t give a fuck about what /mlp/ says, seriously, ignore them.
