Except nothing was confirmed she didn’t care, she led them into canterlot to feed freely and she only left after her entire race was basically mutilated right in front of her and she didn’t want to suffer that fate as well, not to mention nothing is explained in the finale and they just threw a bunch of new random things about them without going into any kind of detail. It’s pretty hard to take anything from the finale seriously though it’s not like anything was really confirmed anyway since it was left in the air.

Thank you! Personally I don’t get why people still have any sympathy for chrysalis even after seeing that she truly didn’t care for her changelings in the first place.  
I’m one of the minority fans who was suspicious of chrysalis’s true nature and motive from the very beginning so I’m grateful that the show writers confirmed my suspicion.

And then she starts crying ‘cause she’s a girl. XD

I think you’re accurate about the personal power VS well-being of subjects dynamic about Chrysalis’s mentality. She was passionate about her subjects’ survival but the sense of pride she got from being their leader seems to be more important to Chrysalis unless she can learn to overcome it.

Well now hold on, I am fully of the opinion that the rest of the hive went alolan-form way too quickly; They should have maybe gone as far as having all developed sparkle-wings until they go out and make their own friendships and whatnot. But! Seeing a physical transformation that proved Thorax’s story was true does make a very compelling case.

I do not take the interpretation of the fans as headcanon (I’m a fan of chrysipuff, but I’m aware that shipping will never happen in the cartoon) but I can imagine Chrysalis ends crying when no one sees it.
