but thank you for the convenient condensed version.
 
I’d have rather used pattern dither, but it kept putting dark artifact pixels in her eyes on quite a few screencaps,  
it was pretty annoying.  
Getting the color gradient colors in her eyes to blend was my main reason to dither this gif to begin with.
 
Noise can be bad if you look too close,  
though I think it is also fine sometimes, especially for ‘moody moments’ like this.

Before they offered her the choice Starlight flat out said Thorax was the new leader. So they pretty much dethroned her before then.

I’d not really be surprised if Chrys unintentionally starves to death before she can plan her revenge. Though, I guess it’d be likely she’ll encounter an antagonist who restores her health before then, if that’s the archetype they’ll use. :j

OP should have chosen to use pattern dither instead of diffusion, which should cut down the noise in what should have been a static background.

Poor Chrysalis, her heart looks like its breaking :(

I’d really hope that a changeling wouldn’t suffer undue prejudice for preferring their old look, though it probably would work that way. I’d also think a lot of ponies wouldn’t trust the new changelings either, even if Princess Celestia says they’re totally okay now.

There is no “biological” change, they are changelings, change is part of their biology in the first place, if they can turn into any pony or dragon they can change their own colours.
 
But that does makes me think what if a changeling goes like “Okay I want this whole friendship deal and I want to be good now but can I keep my black look? I kinda like it better you know black is my favourite colour”. Would he suffer prejudice from others thinking he’s still evil or something? lol!

Thorax said changelings are always hungry. Think about that. Yes their turnaround did seem quick, and I personally would’ve preferred it not be such, but imagine if your entire life you had a gnawing hunger. Something you could never satisfy, you could never end it. You always wanted more, a form of eternal torture your entire species shared.
 
And now you’ve got a former member telling you it can be ended. You no longer have to suffer.

Then again she was given the opportunity to remain as the changelings leader all she had to do was be willing to change a bit her style of rule what she wasn’t willing to do.
 
No reign can last forever if the king/queen don’t adapt to the people’s needs, while Celestia is an open minded that’s in constant update to the feelings and needs of every pony Chrysalis did tried to instead perpetuate her ideas over the others, as much as she done her best for the changelings this fact of her putting her believes first than her people’s new wishes made her unfit to keep the rule.
 
Also I am fairly sure the only reason Celestia didn’t start a war there right on the spot (since she literally had all the most powerful ponies, and discord, there and could easily defeat every changeling, was because Thorax sure showed he had no intention to keep as enemy to the ponies but now be their allies, that’s why she allowed them to keep their independence and didn’t further the conflict, were Chrysalis to remain queen that could have led to a true war right there.

Ikr; she spent years providing for them, putting their needs ahead of her own, and in the wink of an eye they abandon her for that traitor. I just don’t understand how they could so easily leave someone who’d taken such good care of them.

That’s honestly like the only thing I didn’t really like about the episode. I liked how her crown appeared to be a part of her insect anatomy that just so happened to not coincidentally look like a crown. I think that was the original intent. Then the origins comic took it in another direction.
 
I guess they wanted a visual metaphor for her losing her position in the episode.

Wait… Let me see if i can find some onions so I can shed a tear for her…
