I’ve never noticed that, but upon seeing it, I agree!
Me too, I think Diamond Mint looks much more similar to Sparkler
It’s not just me who thinks Amethyst Star (or you should I say :P) does not look like the G1 Sparkler then. Never saw the resemblance, not even in their cutie marks.

They were both named after their cutie marks IIRC
Though Sparkler’s is kind of a stretch.
