I doubt that the finale and movie will tie in. The movie will have to appeal to people that don’t watch FiM. Plus, guessing by the VAs that have confirmed to be in or not in the movie, it sounds like the movie will focus on the Mane 6 alongside movie-specific characters, rather than the secondary characters we’re used to (Discord, Starlight, etc.)
I feel like the movie will premiere during season 7. Maybe the season 7 finale will tie in with the movie. :O
