EqG is worse, in my honest opinion. MLP stumbles, but it at least has the decency to keep going. the films stumble, fall, roll around in its failures and refuses to get up until someone drags it kicking and screaming

Well they failed because I have no reason to care for human Twilight this way. She has such little agency we are given no real reason to care. This is artificial character development.

But I guess that is what I’ve come to expect from Equestria Girls.

I don’t understand this plotpoint. When was it shown that Twilight had this insecurity over herself? Is it because she turned into Midnight at the end of FG? Because that came out of nowhere, made no sense and had no basis for even happening. It wasn’t her fault, she was just sucked into the magic and turned evil for no reason.

So why do they continue that by making her regret it like Sunset did all over again? It’s the same plot device as the first movie, just with even less substance.

Duck - Abandoned fowl returned to its uncaring owner

How many more times will they use the same goddamn trope? It was already bad the first time around, but now it is downright repetitive. Sunset, Starlight and now Twilight. Who next, Rarity? Luna?
