it didn’t. They were in a dinky LITTLE boat and when the Tri-horned Bunyip ate the food, the wave knocked them out of the boat, but because all of them made a mountain out of a molehill, they told it in a much more grandios manner, never telling anyone that they never really left the dock.
Also, if they sank in shallow water, then how did the ship even “sink”?
