I suppose I have to rescind that observation. When she was first talking about spells I thought I noticed her saying them with classical Latin consonants. And yeah, that would make it more like ‘ko garry ah’ since it’s based on ‘cogito’ (ergo suum. I think therefore I am.)
But Starlight pronounced fiducia and *cogeria as [fiduchia] and [cojiria] as opposed to [fidukia] and [kogeria] respectively.
That’s Classical Latin. Harry Potter’s Latin is the Latin of medieval warlocks, much closer to modern Romance languages in its pronunciation. (See also: Ecclesiastical Latin.)
I liked how they pronounced the ‘c’s as ‘k’s like you’re taught to do in actual Latin. I’mma lookin’ at you, Harry Potter.

That’d be something like Levitatio casicans; admittedly, in Vulgar Latin rather than Classical.
