Teachers who are stupid result in students who are stupid. Why are we so surprised?
I am. And this was in 2005 so she hardly had the “newfangled technology” excuse.
That you had to explain this to your science teacher really helps explain why the American education system is as fucked as it is (assuming you’re in America, anyway). At least it wasn’t a computer class…
As a matter of fact, I got another booty mark decal for her, though I’ve got no clue where to put it. Maybe the VR rig…
A traditional hard drive with magnetic discs (or “platters”). The sort of thing you really want to keep magnets away from.

Ah. I had to explain to my SCIENCE TEACHER in high school that the reason her computers were always “broken” was because she had half a dozen large magnets stuck to the case. Come the next year I had her again. The magnets were back.
Also what’s a platter drive?
@Officer Hot-Pants
Nope, it’s all adhesive. The wooden Sunset on the front is there via ZOTS, and the rest of the decals have their own adhesive backing! The places I bought them are listed in the source imgur album.
For what it’s worth, though I have no magnets on the case, I also don’t have any platter drives IN the case, so the most damage a magnet would do would be futzing with my system fans.
