People have legally named their kid Optimus Prime before, I’m pretty sure somebody can name someone “Miss”.
& the reason she’s miss is legality related in the first place.
If you can only call her ‘coco’, though

your current filter.Maybe they can call her “Miss Pommel” or “Coco”, but never in the same scene. Just avoid saying “Coco Pommel”.
I bet they went with Pommel ‘cause it’s more unique.
^
Might have been better to have lost the name pommel and stick with Coco. Either way it seems silly but there’s worse to get worked up about.

Wait, but how many of those have toys named after the famous person out there though? & since the point of the change was to avoid a lawsuit that hadn’t come yet, I think it’s a bit hard to know it wouldn’t have even if it wouldn’t have.
Besides, I’m pretty sure Hasbro wants to be on the safe side. All the time.
Nobody forced them to change it. They were afraid of a lawsuit from the Chanel Company which never actually came. Not that Chanel had a case in the first place. Not that there aren’t a dozen some-odd ponies who are references/ponifications of famous people.
& you got off easy, Pommel! Some ponies don’t even get one part of their name. Like “Buttonbelle”.
