No, it’s a fan name for a particular type of Ranger. The extra badass one (hopefully…) that joins later on in the series. The prototypical Sixth Ranger is the Green Ranger.
It’s called such because Ranger teams usually start out with 5 members, with the new ranger being number 6. However, even if the initial team is less than six or more, the new ranger is still called the Sixth Ranger.
And, well, Sci-Twi is a late edition to the Humane 6, and is extra powerful, so Sixth Ranger.
The 6th ranger was generally the badass one that joined the group later. Sometimes, they were on the evil side (due to brainwashing or being misguided) before changing sides.
I imagine the comparison was due to the latter similarity, not the former.
It’s been decades since I have watched the show, so I’m going to take a wild guess that the sixth one is the nerdy one right?
