Rainbow Dash was originally going to prank Fluttershy in “Griffon the Brush Off”, but Pinkie Pie told her never to do it; Fluttershy was way too sensitive for pranks. Apparently RD forgot Pinkie’s warning here.

Pinkie Pie wasn’t pranking Fluttershy in “Filli Vanilli”, just being utterly clueless. Which, granted, is just as bad, but a maybe little more forgiveable.
