Real life babies tend to speak their first words at about 12 months, according to quick search I did. Pound and Pumpkin said theirs at 1. So I think it’s obvious that they grow a bit faster intelligence wise.

Yet it’s interesting how she still talks a bit like an adult.
 
I mean, I’m not saying unrealistic, just kind of fascinating how thought patterns, reasoning, etc. don’t actually change that much over a person’s life. Ask a four-year-old a question and they go through a similar process to try to answer it as any adult.
 
As for this rendition of Flurry Heart, it’d seem kinda sad you don’t get to coddle a foal for very long. Parents love that stuff (she’s still coddleable, though not in the same way as a wee little foal, and if the pre-talking years were so short, this can’t last very long, either) :p
 
It’s a bit like missing out on childhood it seems so quick. Except it’s foalhood, I guess. She’s no longer wearing diapers, which marks a significant point where an individual must learn about this thing called self-control. Seems almost kinda sad to cut the “no-self-control” part of life so short. It only comes once in a lifetime. Then you learn things like internal conflict and doing taxes until you die :p
